London’s prestigious Liberty design house was established by Arthur Lasenby Liberty. He opened an Emporium on Regent Street back in 1875, trading in articles imported from the British Empire. In 1884, Arthur Lasenby Liberty had the inspired idea of creating a collection of fine cotton fabrics in delicate floral patterns. The ‘Liberty’ style was born. From that moment on, Liberty gained an international reputation.
As leader in the prints market, Liberty’s original designs are updated each season. The company boasts extensive archives, compiled over its 140-year history.
Having established its reputation in the fashion and interiors markets, Liberty now intends to make its name in the activewear market. Liberty also offers a collection of technical fabrics, with innovative surface effects for active sportswear (breathable, colour-fast fabrics, two-way stretch, anti-UV) and outerwear (canvas, twills, membrane, coated and laminated ripstop). Our latest collection ‘The Alpine Symphony’ designs are a celebration of nature: meadow flowers, mountain landscape and lush green panoramas.
